Influence of Additives on the Performance of All-Polymer Solar Cells |

Organic solar cells (OSCs) have been extensively studied because of their potential for low-cost manufacturing. To meet this low-cost goal, most of processes should be carried out at low temperatures without vacuum systems. In this regard, roll-to-roll processes have been introduced by employing wet-coating methods such as gravure printing, ink-jet printing, screen printing etc. To date, high efficiency OSCs have been fabricated with bulk heterojunction films of conjugated polymers and soluble fullerenes. To achieve real plastic solar cells, the bulk heterojunction layers are required to consist of polymers only. However, the performance of all-polymer solar cells is still inferior to that of polymer:fullerene solar cells. In this work, we tried to improve the performance of all-polymer solar cells by introducing additives into the bulk heterojunction films of p-type and n-type polymers. The device performance will be discussed in combination with optical properties and morphology. |
