In this study, poly(vinyl alcohol) hydrogel using poly(ethylene glycol) as an additive was prepared using - 196 ℃ liquid nitrogen. The result of comparing the mechanical properties, water uptake, and water activity of hydrogel on the ratio of the additive, the mechanical properties and water uptake were increased with increasing the ration of the additive. Also, the evaluation of stability of the hydrogel patch was performed. The drug using in this study is almotriptan, which the treatment of migraine, previously has been used almost oral formulation. The drug was released by shaking the hydrogel patch in a buffer solution of pH 5.0, 6.0(person's normal skin pH range: pH 4.8-6.5) for a certain period of time. The potential as a transdermal formulation of almotriptan was confirmed by investigation of the absorption rate of the drug-in almotriptan hydrogel patch depending on the time using the HPLC analysis method. |
