Carbon nanotubes (CNT) are of great interest for both industrial and fundamental research because of their outstanding mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties. Among the many conducting additives such as CNT, carbon fiber and carbon black, CNT’s unique electrical properties present excellent challenge in making conductive polymeric materials due to their exceptionally large aspect ratio of the tube. The CNT/polymer nanocomposites can be applied in the antistatic and electrostatic dissipative applications. To achieve the proper electrical properties, however, the several technical issues should be resolved. The CNTs are also capable of forming naturally robust the random network in a film and provide low sheet resistance and high transmittance with a minimal amount. In this presentation, recent advance on synthesis, the composites and the electronics of CNT are reviewed. Then further market developments of CNT and CNT based materials will be discussed |
