제목 Synthesis of Polypyrrolidone Homo and Copolymers with Improved Thermal Stability
초록 At the meeting synthesis of polypyrrolidone homo and copolymers with improved thermal stability (hereafter: Nylon 4 and Nylon copolymers, respectively) will be discussed. All of the Nylon 4 and Nylon copolymers were polymerized by anionic ring-opening polymerization. In order to improve thermal stability of Nylon 4, polymerization was performed by incorporating diamines such as hexamethylene diamine and 4,4`-oxydianiline with the use of different initiators such as benzoyl chloride and isocyanate. Thus, the their effects will be determined by measuring solution viscosity, polymerization yield and thermal properties. For Nylon copolymers, copolymerization of 2-pyrrolidone with ε-caprolactam was also performed. The effects of experimental variables on the copolymerization such as molar ratios of various comonomers, kinds of catalyst, and reaction temperature were also investigated. Characterization of each synthesized copolymer will be provided.
