Investigation on corrosion inhibitive effect of zinc phosphate-coated mica pigment at different zinc phosphate/mica ratios |

The zinc phosphate-coated mica pigments having ratios of zinc phosphate to mica were prepared and their anticorrosion effect was studied in epoxy system. The zinc phosphate is known as a green anticorrosive pigment. As a means to improve protective action of pigment, mica and zinc phosphate were combined. The scaning electron microscopy and x-ray diffraction techniques were used to analyze the morphology and composition of the pigment. The corrosion inhibitor performance of the pigments was monitored using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The inhibitive effect was examined separatively in zinc phosphate, mica and zinc phosphate/mica systems. In the zinc phosphate/mica system, the enhancement ofinhibitive effective was observed in the pigment with higher zinc phosphate/mica ratio. |
