'Urea' is important for environmental restoration issues or hemodialysis applications. In particular, hemodialysis research to design a small artificial kidney using MXene (Ti3C2Tx) material suitable for use as a dialysis solution adsorbent is being conducted. However, most MXene suffer from facile oxidation in aqueous media. To endow oxidation resistance in physiological media and provide extra binding affinity and selectivity for urea, amine-containing polymer ligand was incorporated for the functionalization of pristine Ti3C2Tx MXene. After additional decoration of Cu2+ ions on amine-functionalized MXene, urea removal efficiency will be precisely examined in various physiological environments.
