Simple, colorimetric detection for waterborne pathogen, Cryptosporidium parvum |
초록 |
Cryptosporidium parvum has been responsible for numerous waterborne and foodborne outbreaks of diarrheal disease. The organism poses a significant public health threat because of the resistance of oocysts to chlorine treatment and because of the large number of unfiltered surface water supplies.To minimize the impact of this parasite on environmental water, an accurate procedure is required to determine the oocysts' presence and its enumeration. In this research, we present a novel color-based detection method for this pathogen using class of conjugated lipids, called polydiacetylenes, by coupling lipid vesicles and antibody specific to C. parvum. |
