Multiplexed assays are one of the powerful tools to study genomes for variation and function, to identify candidate drugs, and in a variety of other applications in which a large number of parallel experiments must be performed in a short period of time. Beads or particles containing many independent codes have been most widely investigated for these applications. Various encoding methods involving for example quantum dots, fluorescent molecules, metal rods, and porous silicon photonic crystals have been also proposed in recent year. In the present work, a method of preparing one-dimensional photonic crystals with multiple peaks in their optical reflectivity spectrum is described. |
