제목 Fabrication of polycarbonate composites with noncovalently functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes by reactive extrusion
초록 Pyrene derivaitives containing hydroxyl functional group, 1-hydroxypyrene (PO), 1-pyrenemethanol (PMO) and 1-pyrenebutanol (PBO) were used for enhancing interfacial adhesion between multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) and polycarbonate (PC). It has been shown that the pyrene units adsorb onto the MWCNT surface by physisorption, so pyrene derfivatives were used for hydroxyl-functionalization agent of MWCNTs. By reacting hydroxyl groups on noncovalently functionlized MWCNTs with carbonate groups in PC, PC grafted MWCNTs were fabricated. Pyrene derivatives showed different reactivity with carbonate groups, because hydroxyl functional groups having longer chain works more effective nucleophilic at the substitution reaction with carbonate. As a result, the PC / MWCNT composites containing PBO exhibited higher reactivity than other pyrene derivatives so showed the best interfacial adhesion between PC and MWCNT.
