A Novel Drug Delivery system using covalently bonded poly[N-Isopropyl acrylamide-co-2-Hydroxyl Ethyl acrylate] based Cyclodextrin Inclusion complexes |

The present work is focused on investigating the drug release behavior of Cyclodextrin inclusion complexes based on covalently bonded poly[N-Isopropyl acrylamide (NIPA)-co-2 Hydroxyethyl Acrylate(HEAc)] nanoparticles. The synthesis process includes the preparation of hydrogel nanoparticles by the radical polymerization of NIPA and HEAc monomers in presence of a cross linker with redox and Cyclodextrin. Sodium dodecyl sulphate is the surfactant employed. The nanoparticles are further cross linked using divenyl sulfone in pH around 12. The colour and volume of this crystalline network can reversibly change in response to external stimuli such as temperature, pH and other environmental conditions. The model drug, 5-fluorouracil (5FU) was loaded into the hydrogels . The temperature-dependent and pH-dependent drug release behavior of the inclusion complexes was monitored on the UV spectrometer. |
