제목 Localized ocular drug delivery system using biodegradable particles contained thermosensitive chitosan
초록 The antimetabolite, 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), has been used to improve the success rate of glaucoma filtration surgery in glaucoma patients. In past years, biodegradable particulate systems had been investigated as a general method of 5-FU delivery for ocular applications. However, these delivery systems were not localized into the target site, therefore could not effectively delivery the drug for a therapeutic effect. Thermosensitive chitosan consists of chitosan with biocompatibility and poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) with thermosensitivity around 32℃. Chitosan based thermosensitive hydrogel incorporated with biodegradable particles can be utilized as a local and injectable drug delivery carrier. In this study, Drug release behaviors from the designed carrier and in vivo test for ocular application were investigated.
