Epoxy resin (EP), the most common thermosetting resin, forms a three-dimensional cross-linked network and changes into an infusible and insoluble after curing. Epoxy resin has been used in various industrial applications because of its good adhesion, chemical resistance, thermal resistance, and mechanical properties. However, due to the lack of study on the chemical depolymerization of thermoset polymers there have been many problems in recycling and waste disposal of many applications using epoxy resin. In this poster, we will show the novel chemical depolymerization method of epoxy resin. Furthermore, for a practical example, we will show reclaiming process of carbon fiber through depolymerization of epoxy resin of CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastics). |
