Galla Rhois, a nest of parasitic bug, has been traditionally used for the treatment of diarrhea, peptic ulcer hemauria, etc.... The plant is reported to have a number of biological properties including anti-inflammatory activity, antibacterial and antioxidant. We studied the effect of Galla Rhois ethanol extract and compounds isolated from it. The objective of the study were whether ethanol extract and compounds isolated from the ethanol extract of Galla Rhois, could inhibit bacterial activity. Our results suggested that Galla Rhois contains antibacterial substances. |
