Effect of Temperature on Stacking Orientations of ZnPc Thin Films |

This paper reports the structural and optical properties of ZincPhthalocyanine thin films and their stacking dependence on the substrate temperature. The ZincPhthalocyanine (ZnPc) thin films were obtained by thermal evaporation method. The thickness of the films was measured by the quartz crystal monitor. The X-ray diffraction analysis of vacuum evaporated ZnPc films reveals that the metastable α –ZnPc phase to stable β-ZnPc phase transformation is identified due to different substrate temperatures. The crystallite size (D), dislocation density (δ) and strain (ε) were calculated. The transmittance and absorbance spectra were recorded in the wavelength range 300-2500 nm using JASCO V-570 Spectrophotometer. As the temperatures increased from room temperature to 200°C, the band gap energy was decreased from 1.82eV to 1.67eV. The phase transformation is also confirmed by the optical studies. |
