Preparation and Release Properties of Functional Montelukast imprinted inulin based biomaterials |

In this study, functional inulin based biomaterials were prepared using montelukast, sunset yellow FCF as a light stabilizer, plasticizers, and press needle. MTL and biomaterials were characterized by FE-SEM, FT-IR, 1H NMR. In addition, MTL release properties on MTL imprinted biomaterials were examined to various conditions. Results indicated that the MTL release in high pH and temperature was faster than in low pH and temperature. MTL release of SY added biomaterials was increased by 1.8 times compared to those of biomaterials without the addtion of SY. The results of MTL release using artificial skin showed that MTL was continuously released for 12 h. MTL release of PN combined biomaterials was also 1.38 times higher than that of biomaterials without combined PN. Besides, the results of diffusion modeling simulations of MTL release proved that MTL release in buffer solution followed the Fickian mechanism, whereas MTL release using artificial skin followed the non-Fickian mechanism. |
