제목 The toxic gas sensing characteristics of pitch-based activated carbon fibers
초록 The gas sensor was prepared by pitch-based activated carbon fibers (ACFs) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) to investigate the toxic gas sensing characteristics. The properties of ACFs for gas sensor were analyzed with SEM and BET. Their sensing properties of the ACFs based gas sensor was also investigated by different toxic gases such as NH3, NO and CO2. The specific surface area of ACFs based toxic gas sensor was decreased by 33% owing to using the polyvinyl alcohol as a binder compared with ACFs itself. However, its pore size distribution of the gas sensor electrode was not greatly influenced by polyvinyl alcohol. The gas sensor electrode chiefly sensed toxic gases by electron hopping. In this study, the pitch based ACFs gas sensor exhibited most excellent gas sensing property for NH3 gas.
