PPE/PA alloy have attracted the attention of polymer alloy manufacturers because of its good dimensional stability and heat resistance from PPE; heat resistance, oil resistance and processability from PA. To develop a light weight polymer alloy for automobiles to be substituted metallic exterior panels, the alloy should have high strength and electrical conductivity. Generally, to enhance the mechanical and electrical properties of polymer alloy, both fiber-type reinforcements and electrically conductive fillers were used. CNT grafted glass fiber which was recently developed can act as a fiber-type reinforcement and a electrically conductive filler at once. In this study, the effects of CNT grafted GF on the mechanical and electrical properties of PPE/PA alloy were investigated. PPE/PA alloy having CNT grafted GF showed better electrical properties than that having the same content of conventional CNT and GF. |
