In recent years, fluoropolymers have been widely used in industry due to their high weatherability and low surface energy. However, recent studies suggest that Fluoromonomers can be accumulate in wildlife and the human body, which results in a potential risk to environmental concerns. To overcome these problems, copolymerization of fluorine monomers and other harmless monomers or hybrid technologies has been developed. Ladder-like polysilsesquioxane (LPS) is one of the organic-inorganic hybrid materials. LPS is a special type of double-stranded polymer containing Si-O-Si structure, possess much higher resistance to chemical, thermal, and biological degradations compared with the common single-chain polymers. In this study, hybrid polymer was synthesized by thiol-para-fluorine click reaction of fluorine monomer (pentafluorostyrene) and LPS with SH group. Characteristics of curable hybrid polymer were analyzed by various analytical tools. |
