Recently polymer solar cells have attracted attention due to their advantages including low cost manufacturing and light-weight modules. However, their low power conversion efficiency and undefined stability are considered as main hurdles for commercialization. To date, we understand that various factors such as kind of materials, morphology/nanostructures, absorption wavelength ranges of active layers do indeed influence on the performance of polymer solar cells. From a couple of years ago, we have attempted to improve the performance of polymer solar cells by adding a third ingredient to the bulk heterojunction film. In this work, we particularly added inorganic nanoparticles to the bulk heterojunction films and then fabricated ternary blend polymer solar cells. Results showed that the device performance was improved by the addition of inorganic nanoparticles. Detailed results will be discussed in this presentation. |
