The cyclopolymerization of 1,6-heptadiyne derivatives via olefin metathesis is a powerful method for synthesizing substituted polyacetylenes. Through this synthetic method, polymers with five- and/or six-membered ring backbone can be produced via α- or β-addition of the catalyst.1 Previously, we succeeded the living polymerization using Grubbs 3rd generation catalyst producing conjugated polymers with solely 5-membered-ring structure.2 In this study, we are aiming to synthesize polyenes selectively which have only 6-membered rings on their backbone in Ru-catalyzed system. This purpose can be achieved by changing the reaction condition, such as monomer substituents, solvent, concentration, ligands of the catalyst and so on. (1) Fox, H. H.; Schrock, R.
