This study investigates sensitivity of the sensor to VOCs gas with operating temperatures and catalysts. Gas sensing materials of WO3 loaded with 0~10wt% metal oxides(SnO2) and 0~5wt% catalysts(Pt, Pd, Ru, In) were prepared and tested for VOCs gas. The metal-WO3 thick films were prepared by screen-printing method. The measured sensitivity to VOCs gas is defined as the ratio (Ra/Rg) of the resistance(Rair) of WO3 film in air to the resistance(Rgas) of WO3 film in a VOCs test gas. It was shown that the highest sensitivity and selectivity of the sensor for VOCs gas by doping with 1wt.% Ru and 5wt.% SnO2 at the optimum operating temperature of 300℃. |
