제목 Protein Refolding vs Aggregation: Phase Diagram of Concentrated Protein System
초록 As an attempt to gain insights that might eventually lead to the development of new ways to avoid or minimize losses due to protein aggregation, we have performed dynamic Monte Carlo simulations on very simple lattice models of systems containing both isolated and multiple protein chains. Model proteins are prepared by sequence annealing method of Shakhnovich and Gutin. Computer simulations are then performed on systems of model proteins in various concentrations to study how the competition between protein refolding and aggregation affects refolding of proteins. The phase diagram of such concentrated protein systems are constructed by using histogram reweighting technique combined with a mean-field theory and the concentration dependence of the stability of native structure is examined in terms of the number of native contacts.
