제목 The unfolding mechanism of model proteins under elongational flow
초록 The unfolding of 64-mer model proteins subjected to elongational flow is simulated by a lattice Monte Carlo method. Using enumeration in a fully compact structure and energy spectrum for a given sequence, the sequences of a heteropolymer that show foldability with a unique native structure are selected in sequence space. Conformations of the model proteins undel elongational flow field are then sampled according to Verdier-Stockmayer algorithm. The unfolding pathway of heteropolymers under elongational flow is characterized from the free energy landscape obtained by a histogram method. From the free energy landscape, the pathway of unfolding induced by elongational flow is investigated as a function of the flow rate and compared to that of unfolding induced by other types of external perturbation such as mechanical stretching.
