제목 Waterproof and Water Vapour Permeability of Waterborne Polyurethane / Poly(vinyl alcohol) Blend Film
초록 Polymer blends film continue to be a subject of intensive investigations because of the simplicity and effectiveness of mixing two different polymers to obtain new materials. In this study, we used Poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA) and waterborne Polyurethane(WBPU). PVA is a nontoxic, water-soluble, synthetic polymer that is widely used in biomedical applications. Also, it has excellent film-forming ability. WBPU is nontoxic, nonflammable, and do not pollute the environment compare with Polyurethane. So, WBPU have been used for a wide range of commercial application. Especially, the WBPU film is used in breathable coating or medical science applications by their water vapor permeabilities(WVPs). Blend film was prepared by a casting method and WVP was examined by using an evaporation method described in ASTM E96-00.
