We have demonstrated a novel transparent and flexible optoelectronic hybrid material consisting of vertically aligned ZnO NWs grown on reduced graphene/PDMS substrates. This hybrid material created from the hydrothermal synthesis of ZnO NWs on reduced graphene/PDMS substrates proved to be a promising candidate for flexible devices, such as flexible field emission devices. Owing to the good mechanical and electrical contact between vertical ZnO NWs and graphene film, the field emission of our hybrid material showed low turn-on voltages from 2.0 to 2.8 V m-1, even in highly deformed geometries. In particular, due to the reduced screening effect from neighboring field emitters, the convex bending exhibited one of the lowest values of 2.0 V m-1. We anticipate that the mechanical deformability and interesting electric and optoelectronic properties of the ZnO NWs/graphene hybrids would provide valuable insights for flexible applications, such as flexible displays and solar cells. |
