Developing hydrogen (H2) sensors is one of the most important issues in energy and environmental technology. To date, most of the H2 sensor use palladium (Pd) as a sensing channel material because of its high selectivity, solubility and strong affinity to H2 molecule. Despite significant progress in this area, performance of Pd hydrogen sensor is still far from the realization of commercially available H2 sensor. In this study, we developed Pt based hydrogen sensor with excellent sensitivity (1 ppm LOD), reproducibility, and fast response time and nice recovery behavior in room temperature operation, which is superior to sensing performance of present Pd hydrogen sensor. The new Pt hydrogen sensor we have developed relies on the highly periodic, small feature dimension (10~40 nm) and well-defined configuration of Pt nanowires arrays in large area. |
