Gold Nanopartilce Hybrid Polymer Thin Films for Biomolecule Detection |

Metal nanoparticle-polymer hybrid films were prepared by controlled colloid synthesis and layer-by-layer(LbL) process. Weak polyelectrolyte multilayer films that were comprised of the same weak polyelectrolytes revealed very different properties based on the assembly conditions. Micro- and nanoporous films were formed by the conformational change of the polyelectrolyte triggered by pH change. Metal nanoparticles were synthesized using the polyelectrolyte multilayers as the templates. Gold and silver nanoparticle hybrid multilayer films exhibit characteristic SPR properties. We studied the relation bewteen the multilayer films and their SPR behaviors. Thees metal nanoparticle-embeded multilayers may have a great potential for biomolecule sensing and other active coatings. |
