| 제목 | Development of New Practical Process for Manufacturing Clarithromycin, a Semi-synthetic Macrolide Antibiotic, and Strategy for Overcoming its Patent Huddles |
| 초록 | Clarithromycin is a potent semi-synthetic macrolide antibiotic, marketed to treat various respiratory infection diseases. A practical and patentable process is necessary to develop the generic drug for clarithromycin. In this presentation, a variety of new processes from erythromycin A to clarithromycin will be discussed, focusing on the selectivity, productivity, and patentability of 6-O-methylation step. Also the strategy to overcome huddle patents of the origin company will be introduced. |
