Conducting polymers have been regarded as promising redox capacitor materias due to their excellent electrochemical properties, low cost, easy fabrication, suitable morphology, and fast doping-undoping process. The use of conducting polymer materials for redox supercapacitors provides higher specific power or energy than batteries and higher energy than conventional dielelctric capacitors. Among conducting polymers, poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) has attracted much attentions because of environmental stability, non-toxicity, and easy processability. In this study, we fabricated redox supercapacitor using PEDOT thin film or PEDOT non-woven web as electrode. The supercapacitor using PEDOT thin film as electrode showed high and stable electrochemical properties, especially for PEDOT solution polymerized in the atmosphere of nitrogen as shown in Cyclic Voltammetries, specific capacitance, UV-Vis-NIR spectra and AFM images comparing with in the atmosphere of air. |
