제목 Spherical-shaped Natural Graphite as a Anode Materials for Lithium ion batteries
초록 Natural graphite is one of the potential candidates for a new anode material as they have higher capacity and lower cost than the artificial graphite. Preferred orientation in particles and exfoliation of natural graphite in PC electrolytes hampered the development for secondary lithium batteries. Basically, natural graphite have flake shape, hence the basal planes tend to orient in parallel with current collector. Preferred orientation on the current collector gives longer paths for the diffusion of lithium ions and large swelling of electrode in thickness direction. In this study, detail investigations of structural and electrochemical properties on the modified natural graphite powders were carried out. A model for the change from flake to spherical particle as well as intercalation paths for lithium ions was proposed.
