제목 | Preparation of Dental Composite Resins Containing New Methacrylated Prepolymers Alternative to Bisphenol A and Inorganic Filler |
초록 | A typical dental restorative composite resins currently used contain a mixture of methacrylates, a photoinitiator system, and a large quantity of inorganic fillers.1 Photocurable dimethacrylates such as 2,2-bis[4-(2'-hydroxy-3'-methacryloyloxy -proxy)phenyl]propane (Bis-GMA) are used in most commercial dental composites.2 However, this Bis-GMA contains bisphenol A which has an injurious effect on human bodies to be doubtful as an endocrine disrupter. In this study, four kinds of new methacrylated prepolymers having similar structure with bisphenol A have been synthesized for alternative to bisphenol A (Fig. 1). The appropriate amounts of polymerization inhibitors were added to synthesize the prepolymers for their thermal stability.3 The chemical structures of methacrylated prepolymers were identified by 1H NMR and FTIR. Table 1 lists synthesis yield and viscosity of some methacrylated perpolymers. The resulting methacrylated perpolymers showed high yield and considerably low viscosity as compared to Bis-GMA control. In addition, The dental composite resins containing methacrylated prepolymers and inorganic fillers were prepared and characterized by photoconversion, polymerization shrinkage and depth, water absorption, and mechanical properties as compared with that comprising Bis-GMA control.
