제목 | Nanoencapsulation of Phase Change Materials by Miniemulsion Polymerization Using Alkali Soluble Resin |
초록 | This study deals with the preparation and characteristic of phase change material (PCM, octadecane) nanocapsules which were prepared by miniemulsion polymerization with polystyrene (PS) as a shell material. Alkali soluble resin (ASR), poly(styrene/alpha-methylstyrene/acrylic acid) (SAA) with Mn: 4,300 gmol-1, Mw: 8,600 gmol-1, and acid no.: 190, that composes of hydrophobic and hydrophilic segments was used as a polymeric surfactant. The PCM nanocapsules using ASR had higher electric and static stability than those using common surfactants because ASR could endow carboxyl functionality on the shell of PCM capsules. Additionally, the grafted and anchoring ASR molecules onto PS resulted in significant increase of chemical resistance. The distribution of particle size and the morphology of PCM nanocapsules were analyzed by CHDF, SEM, and TEM respectively. In addition, Thermal energy storage/release capacity and properties of PCM microcapsules were measured by DSC and TGA respectively. |
