Fabrication of Core-Shell PEDOT-Au Composite Nanostructure Via Capillary Force Lithography and Electrodepositon |

We focus on a facile and robust way of fabricating core-shell PEDOT-Au arrays over large scale using polymeric template prepared by capillary force lithography and electrodeposition for PEDOT polymerization and Au metallization. By controlling the polymerization time and applied voltage, nanotube of conductive polymer PEDOT can be synthesized which contacts with a base Cr electrode layer and grows along the template wall to partially fill the template. Because of the conductance difference between PEDOT and bottom Cr layer, Au can be selectively electrodeposited into the hollow creating core-shell PEDOT-Au nanostructure at last. Au nanodot arrays offer a platform for LSPR biosensors via the sequential binding of chemicals and biomolecules. The surrounded PEDOT can affect the LSPR signal of Au measured by UV-vis-NIR spectroscopy. After lifting off the PEDOT, we can get smaller size Au nanodot arrays compared with the polymeric template scale helping improve the Au LSPR property. |
