Carbon nanotube-based heterojunction networks are currently at the forefront in the arena of nanotechnology research due to their interesting applications in nanoelectronics, sensors, photovoltaics, and so on. Here, we report a facile, elegant, and yet simple fabrication approach for the formation of carbon nanotube junction networks mediated by polymer nanoparticles. The carbon nanotubes have been interconnected to one another by polymer nanoparticle-metal hybrids at the junction points. The polymer nanoparticle-metal-carbon nanotube composites were characterized by FT-IR-, UV-vis-, and UV-vis-NIR-spectroscopy. The visualization of the junction networks has been accomplished by TEM and SEM. The thermal stability was determined by TGA. The EDX and XRD pattern confirmed the presence and nature of the metal content in the nanocomposites. |
