초록 | This study focuses on the development of a novel automatic FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) system for the efficient hazard assessment in chemical industry. This study develops a new Digraph-FT conversion algorithm and an automatic FT-analysis algorithm. As the result of this study, a user can draw a FT easily and analyze a FT accurately. This study consists of two steps: 1) Representing process and safety knowledge as a digraph and converting it into FT (Fault Tree) automatically and 2) calculating the probability of the occurrence of the top event and finding a minimal cut set of the top event to analyze FT quantitatively and qualitatively. For the first step, we propose a new algorithm of the automatic conversion from a digraph to a fault tree. The Digraph-FT conversion algorithm has four-generation rules to transform nodes based on the different types of node characteristics. This conversion algorithm has been also developed to analyze various chemical processes and many case studies illustrate the effectiveness of this system. Various case studies showed that it is possible that the weaknesses of the manual FTA (time, manpower and cost consuming) are minimized. |
