제목 Oxidation behavior of oxynitrided Ti-6Al-4V alloys between 673 and 1173 K in air
초록 In this study, the oxidation characteristics of the oxynitrided Ti-6Al-4V alloys were investigated between 673 and 1173 K for up to 10 h in air. Oxynitriding was performed in the nitrogen-oxygen-containing media in order to improve the properties of titanium alloys via the surface engineering technology. Surface layers having high hardness, wear- and corrosion-resistance can be obtained via the oxynitriding treatment, while simultaneously maintaining the required mechanical properties. The understanding of oxynitriding would lead to the development of physical and chemical principles of new surface hardening technologies, which can be applied for industrial titanium alloy parts. Microstructural and microhardness changes of the oxynitrided layer that occurred by oxidation were investigated by EPMA, XRD, XPS, OM, and SEM in this study.
