Academic researches on the network polymers have not been so active in recent years mainly because they are insoluble and infusible, which make their characterization difficult. However, network polymers have found increasing applications in the industries owing to their high strength, durability, and dimensional stability. In this talk, I will discuss recent developments in the synthesis of functionalized organic polymer networks, which could be used for molecular sensing, storage, and retrieval.
