Because of the growing need for high resolution, large panel size and high reliability of liquid crystal display(LCD), the performance improvement of color filter resist is progressing fast. In particular, the most significant challenges have been in the area of improving the thermal resistance and transparency of the color filter resist. However, the serious problems according to the addition of photoinitiators have occurred in the mixing process, photocure process, high cost, and so on. In this study, we have developed new photoprepolymer systems without photoinitiators based on the photo-dimerization reaction with cinnamic group. The various aromatic groups were introduced in this photoprepolymer in order to improve thermal and optical properties. The photo-cure properties of these resin systems with UV power intensity, time, and process temperature were investigated. Thermal stability of these materials were measured by thermal gravimetric analysis(TGA) and UV-visible spectra of them before and after high temperature were compared. |
