제목 Ultrasmall Polymer-coated Gold Nanoparticles for Molecular Imaging
초록 In this study, we synthesized novel polymer-coated Au nanoparticles that induce a strong X-ray attenuation and are biocompatible and nontoxic in vivo as a molecular imaging probe. Furthermore, AuNPs can be modified with various functional groups, which give them advantages over conventional molecular imaging probes. The amino groups of polymer existing on the nanoparticles can be used for attachment of biomolecules. The characteristics of polymer coated AuNPs were studied by X-ray diffractometry (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and dynamic light scattering (DLS) for particle size analysis. The presence of gold was demonstrated by the unique absorption peaks from XRD. The TEM image shows that the polymer-coated AuNPs have elongated spherical shape. The average size of polymer-coated AuNPs measured by DLS had a significant dependence upon polymer contents with an average diameter of 40-100 nm.
