Recently, many scientists have studied about graphene since their unique and superior properties. Nevertheless, graphene still could not be used as industrial purpose due to their aggregation behavior in dispersions which deteriorates quality of graphene. To solve this problem, many researchers showed interest in functionalization of graphene such as oxidation, covalent modification, and non-covalent modification of graphene. Among these functionalization methods, non-covalent modification route seems milder than others since the oxidation of graphene destroys the graphene structure. In this research, we investigated the interactions between few different vinyl monomers and graphene via atomic force microscopy. This work may help to choose suitable composition of polymeric dispersant for non-covalent modification of graphene.
