제목 Synergistic Effect of Ru and Fe on Titania-Supported Catalyst for Enhancement Anisole Hydrodeoxygenation Selectivity
초록 Hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) of bio-oil, which is considered one of the most promising techniques for upgrading the pyrolysis bio-oils to biofuels, is inhibited because of its complexity. In this study, Ru supported on mesoporous TiO2 catalysts was prepared with a series of Fe loading (1, 3, and 10 wt.%). Their catalytic activities for HDO of anisole were evaluated at 200 oC and 10 bar initial H2 pressure. The anisole conversion and product distribution strongly depend on the Fe content. In particular, Ru/meso-TiO2 without Fe converted anisole mainly to methoxycyclohexane, indicating that hydrogenation was established as the dominant reaction pathway. On the other hand, the addition of Fe remarkably promotes the conversion and selectivity level of Ru/meso-TiO2. The pathway drastically changed to direct deoxygenation with higher selectivity toward benzene (C-O cleavage without saturation of aromatic ring) over Fe contained catalysts. Among these catalysts, Ru-1 wt.% Fe/meso-TiO2 exhibits the highest conversion and benzene selectivity. It can be assigned to the synergy between Ru and Fe particles, in which Ru facilitates H2 activation and Fe is strongly oxophilic sites.
