Disk-like Block Copolymer Particles with Porous Cylinder Channels Driven by Gold Nanoparticles |
초록 |
Due to the high surface area of nanometer-sized colloidal particles relative to their volume, the interfacial interaction between block copolymer (BCP) chains and surfactant surrounding the emulsion droplet greatly affects the final internal morphology of BCP colloidal particles. We developed the disk-like BCP particles with porous structures, decorated by Au NPs at the outer surface. Addition of Au NPs dramatically change the interfacial interactions between BCP and the surrounding surfactant by attracting P4VP chains to the emulsion/surfactant interface and rearranging themselves to induce a neutral wetting of PS and P4VP against that interface. The P4VP chains within the colloidal particles can be successfully loaded with various nanoparticles or other materials which have selective affinity, thus these materials hold great promise for use in optical, catalysts, and biological applications. |
