The Influence of Hydrogen Bonding in Block Copolymer Transition |
초록 |
It is well known that the block copolymer (BCP) forms a complex with low molecular weight molecules as well as with macromolecules, which has applications in various fields. We investigated transition behavior for block copolymer mixtures composed of a symmetric polystyrene-block-poly(2-vinylpyridine) (PS-b-P2VP) and phenylacetamide derivatives, where the hydroxyl functionality at para postion is available only for 4-hydroxyphenylacetamide (HPA) and not for phenylacetamide (PA). In comparison to PA, the increase in TODT with the addition of HPA was observed and measured by in-situ small angle x-ray scattering (SAXS) and depolarized light scattering (DPLS), and an annealing temperature dependence for BCP mixtures with HPA indicates that only the complex by H-bonding mediation between the nitrogen units of P2VP block and hydroxyl group in the HPA enhances nonfavorable segmental interactions between two block components. |
