제목 | Self-assembled MPEG-PCL micelles for paclitaxel delivery |
초록 | Systemic administration of anti-cancer drug still exhibits several side effects and toxicity such as myelosuppression, mucositis, and alopecia. In this study, we prepared self-assembled micelles with methoxy poly(ethylene glycol)-b-poly(ε-caprolactone) (MPEG-PCL) for paclitaxel (PTX) delivery. MPEG-PCL was synthesized by ring-opening polymerization, hydroxyl group of which was substituted to a carboxyl group by succinic anhydride. PTX was then coupled to carboxylated MPEG-PCL through esterification, and micelle was prepared by a solvent evaporation method and its morphology and size distribution were determined, and the effect of the micelles to inhibit the cell growth was investigated with 4T1 cancer cell-line. In vitro test showed that micelles under 200 nm successfully inhibited 4T1 cancer cell growth.
