As scientific/industrial importance for user-tailored, various shaped mobile electronic devices is rapidly growing, flexible lithium rechargeable batteries with aesthetic diversity garner considerable attention as a promising power source. From the viewpoint of materials breakthrough, development of readily-deformable solid electrolytes is highly demanded to secure a wide range of form factors without provoking safety concerns. Herein, to achieve this challenging goal, a new class of thin, deformable, and safety-reinforced solid electrolyte that comprises plastic crystal polymer electrolyte matrix and compliant nonwoven skeleton is reported. This innovative polymer electrolyte is expected to facilitate development of high-performance flexible lithium rechargeable batteries that play a crucial role in boosting the advent of next-generation mobile/wearable era. |
