제목 Studies on Effect of Solvent Free Acetylation on Interfacial Adhesionbetween Kenaf and PLA.
초록 The purpose of this study was to improve the interfacial adhesion between a biodegradable polymer and natural fiber through a chemical modification. Hydroxyl groups of kenaf fibers were substituted for acetyl group in order to be more hydrophobic. The modified or unmodified kenaf fibers and polylactic acid (PLA) were blended using a twin-extruder. The extruded materials were cooled in a water bath. Then the sample made by an extruder was molded by an injection molder and pelletizer. FTIR-ATR spectroscopy indicated that the hydroxyl groups of kenaf were substituted by acetyl groups. The morphology was analyzed by field emission-scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM). The tensile strength of the nanocomposites was carried out by universal testing machine (UTM). The thermal properties of composite were measured by dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA).
