제목 EFFECT OF POLYANILINE PREPARED WITH DIFFERENT DOPANTS ON THE ANTICORROSIVE PROPERTIES OF EPOXY COATING
초록 Recently polymeric material has been found to be an important constituent in coatings and it has drawn attention as an effective material for corrosion protection. In this study, the aim was to investigate the effect of dopant used for polyaniline salt on the corrosion rate of coated steel. The soluble polyaniline (PANI) salts were synthesized by chemical-oxidative polymerization of aniline using ammonium per sulphate (APS) as starting materials. Sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonic acid, camphor sulphonic acid and hydrochloric acid were used as dopants. The synthesized PANI salts were characterized by using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy. The anticorrosion performance of epoxy coatings containing PANI was evaluated by employing EIS. The results showed that the epoxy coating systems formulated with PANI have improved corrosion protection in 3.5% saline solution and the anticorrosive properties of PANI salts were affected by the dopant.
