Gold Nanorods Modified with Biologically Compatible Heparin and Gylcol Chitosan for in vivo Application |
초록 |
Gold nanorods have unique optical properties with an intense surface plasmon band. However, despite their unique characteristics, gold nanorods cannot be used in the bioscience field due to strong cytotoxic hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) used as a stabilizing agent during preparation of gold nanorods. Herein, to reduce cytotoxicity and stabilize them in biocompatible conditions, CTAB removal and converting into biologically compatible polymers such as heparin and glycol chitosan were studied. Those polymers were conjugated with dopamine and DOPAC and the amount of conjugated catechol groups having interaction with the surface of gold nanorods was confirmed using UV spectrometer. Stability and cytotoxicity of biocompatible polymer coated gold nanorods were also verified for biomedical application. |
