Graphene, the two-dimensional (2D) carbon material, has attracted great interests owing to it`s remarkable electrical, mechanical, and chemical properties. Many researchers have made effort to synthesize large-scale graphene to utilize these fascinating properties of graphene for consumer electronic devices. Although Hong et al. established the large-scale graphene synthesis by using chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method in 2009, this technique has limitations on throughput of graphene production. Herein, we demonstrated a new approach for fast fabrication of graphene by using Xe based flash lamp systems that is light-induced heat treatment equipment. The duration of Xe flash lamp is 15ms, all thermal process such as heating, synthesis, and cooling takes place within this duration, about four orders of magnitude faster than conventional CVD process. Light-induced method would not only be one of the best ways to mass-produce the graphene, but facilitate graphene-based device applications. |
