Supraparticles are consisted by self-assembled nano/microparticles structure. In this study, we present one-step fabrication of large-scale supraparticles on a micro-wetting pattern substrate. The substrate is based on patterns of micro size wetting spots on non-wetting surface. Microdroplet array is formed by the process of discontinuous dewetting. The droplet contact line pinning occurs on wetting spot in patterned substrate. Ouzo dispersion drying effect was introduced to reduce pinning of the droplet. Colloid particles are dispersed in the ternary drop which contains water, ethanol, and anise oil. As ethanol evaporates, precipitated oil forms ring at the droplet contact line which causes the "self-lubrication effect". Thus, this strategy allows the synthesis of large amounts of crack-free supraparticles in a simple one step process, which helps the supraparticle to be extended a variety of applications. |
